Our lab.

We’re Ahmed and Zeyad, students studying practical problems through Softworks and sharing what we learn.

Starting with life around us.

Egypt is where we live, study, and build. The language people use, the way work gets done, and the tools available here shape the questions we want to investigate.

We started Labs to follow questions beyond a project deadline. We are still learning every day, and we want to make that learning useful to people across Egypt and the region.

AI generated close study of an olive circuit board, showing its small components and copper connections.

What we want to share.

Software and tools
Small open projects and kits that someone else can adapt.
Hardware experiments
Circuits, parts lists, and notes on what we tested.
Findings and risks
Clear explanations of failures, security concerns, and limits.
AI and local data
Carefully reviewed Egyptian language examples, methods, and useful AI tools.

Questions from our work.

Our work with collaborators at Softworks gives us practical questions to investigate. These are studio projects, not Labs publications.

Transito

How should records follow a physical handover? Work on Transito brings that question into contact with scanners, receipts, and the people using them.

How do documents stay searchable, recoverable, and protected? Work on DocuBex connects that question to scanning and physical records.

How the lab keeps going.

Some work will be open source. Some may become products or services that support the lab. Every release should explain its licence, access, and limitations.

We use AI in research and coding. We are responsible for checking the sources, code, and claims we share.
